Report
Buyers of framing lumber turned more bearish. Many put away their
purchase order books or limited buying to essential items, sensing
overall production was outstripping slower seasonal demand. Views of
the market varied, however, and markets still enjoying decent weather
continued to generate fair demand for at least cautious replenishment.
Price trends were also mixed, but declines outpaced gains, and the
Random Lengths Framing Lumber Composite Price slipped $3, to $381.

Random Lengths Panel Market Report
Structural panel demand eased modestly. OSB prices finished at
midweek levels or slightly higher, but the pace of sales slowed in
the second half of the week. Southern Pine plywood sales cooled in
comparison with last week. Several mills still sold all that they
produced, however, and the mood of traders remained upbeat. It was a
mixed week of activity that saw some western Fir plywood traders
book steady to brisk sales, while others said demand was off from
the previous three weeks.
