Report
While sales picked up on Thursday, most framing lumber prices
finished the week lower. Widespread bad weather was a constraint, and
figured prominently in traders¨ attitudes and approaches to the
market. Some trading offices on the East Coast were closed on
Thursday, as another winter storm moved up the Eastern Seaboard. Even
so, forecasts for warmer temperatures next week raised hope in many,
and confidence in some, that better weather would free pent-up demand.

Random Lengths Panel Market Report
Structural panel trading was more active despite severe winter
weather in some regions. Mill sales of OSB increased slightly from
the previous week, but weather- and transportation-related issues
remained at the forefront of traders¨ minds. For a week dominated
by bad weather, sales at most Southern Pine plywood mills were
surprisingly brisk. By Friday morning, snow and ice were melting
across most of the storm-affected areas. In western Fir plywood,
activity picked up through the week, and mills edged quotes upward
on stronger demand.
