Report
Trading in framing lumber fell back to a measured pace, and prices
flattened or moved modestly in either direction. The slower pace
wasn¨t unexpected in advance of the Thanksgiving week in the U.S.
Many buyers focused on working through inventories on the ground or en
route to their yards. Some inventory-conscious buyers noted that they
were holding back to ensure that loads would not arrive until after
the new year. The Random Lengths Framing Lumber Composite Price held
at $399.

Random Lengths Panel Market Report
Structural panel demand was sufficient enough to keep prices of
most items firm. OSB mills focused on extending order files into
December, anticipating little activity next week with the
Thanksgiving holiday in the U.S. While no one was taking big
positions, buyers of Southern Pine plywood continued to fill
inventory holes. Order files at a few mills reached the second week
of December. Western Fir plywood sales were muted as buyers stayed
firmly entrenched on the sidelines.
