| Details: |  a) Structural TimberThis comprises of rough sawn timber (RST) used in construction. Mainly used for roofing in form of roofing beams. It is produces in the following sizes: 1) 38mm X 38mm 2) 38mm X 76mm 3) 38mm X 114mm 4) 38mm X 152mm 5) 38mm X 228mm 6) 50mm X 50mm 7) 50mm X 76mm 8) 50mm X 228mm b) Crating Timber This is the timber which is used for crating or furniture manufacturing. Just like structural timber, it comes in different sizes which are: 1) 19mm X 76mm 2) 19mm X 114mm 3) 25mm X 114mm 4) 14mm X 114mm These types are produces from pine trees and are referred to as soft woods. Crating or furniture wood can also be produced from hardwoods whose prices are a bit dearer than that of soft woods. Hardwoods are not found in plantations but are indigenous trees that are found in the forests. These are trees like Mukwa, Teak, Mahogany and Mopane trees. These types are sawn according to customer specifications. We can even saw timber according to customer specifications in-terms of sizes or measurements.. |
