Home Depot names Yahoo executive to its top marketing post |
| USA:Home Depot names Yahoo executive to its top
marketing post Atlanta - October 18 - Home Depot has hired John Costello as its executive vp and chief marketing officer. Costello, 55, joins the company from Yahoo, where he was the chief global marketing officer since October 2001. Costello previously held high-level positions at various companies, including Procter & Gamble, Pepsi-Cola, AutoNation, Nielsen Marketing Research and Sears Roebuck & Co., where he served as senior executive vp from 1993 to 1998. At Home Depot, Costello will be responsible for the retailer's marketing, advertising, branding and research. The company says he will also be part of the executive team developing long-term growth strategies. Costello will report directly to chairman, president and CEO Bob Nardelli. The retailer' top marketing post had been vacant since March, when senior vp-marketing Dick Sullivan resigned |
