USA:CCA Phase Out 【Feb.21, 2002】 |
CCA Phase Out USA: The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced that arsenic-based timber treatment for residential use will be phased out by the end of next year. The industry has begun a voluntary programme to move away from using wood pressure-treated with chromated copper arsenate (CCA) for play-structures, decks, picnic tables, landscaping timbers, residential fencing, patios, walkways and boardwalks. From January 2004, EPA will not allow CCA products for any of these residential uses. |
