| November Hardwood Flooring Shipments Edge Higher HMR Custom News According to the Monthly Report On Strip Shipments produced by NOFMA: The Wood Flooring Manufacturers Association, solid hardwood flooring shipments reached an estimated 43,287,000 board feet in November. November¡¯s figures are slightly higher than the same reporting period last year, up 374,000 board feet, which is less than a 1 percent increase. Through November, year to date shipments of solid hardwood flooring total 521,561,000 board feet, surpassing the eleven-month number for 2000 by 7,361,000 board feet, or 1.4 percent. Total shipments reported by NOFMA for the last twelve consecutive months stand at 570,246,000 board feet. The total estimated footage for solid hardwood flooring shipments for the year 2000 is 562,885,000. Since falling from the highest point of 1,207,164,000 board feet in 1955 to a low point of 75,011,000 board feet in 1982, annual shipments of solid hardwood flooring have increased year-over-year in all but 1990 and 1991. At the current rate, shipments for 2001 will be more than seven times those for 1982.
