Siam Fibreboard, a Thai manufacturer of medium-density
fibreboard (MDF) and reconstituted wood products, has signed the
final acceptance of two PressBooster systems supplied by Sunds
Fibertech, completing a project that began with an order in Nov
2025.
The first system was started up in Apr 2026, followed by the
second on the company’s thin-board, high-speed production line
in Jun. Both systems have operated reliably and met the agreed
performance targets, according to Sunds Fibertech.
The PressBooster system uses steam to heat the fibre mat before
pressing. The technology is designed to increase production
capacity and improve board quality while reducing resin
consumption and manufacturing costs.
“The successful acceptance of both PressBooster systems is an
important milestone for this project and for our cooperation
with Siam Fibreboard,” said Marcus Mattsson, vice-president of
sales for Asia-Pacific at Sunds Fibertech.
“We greatly appreciate the excellent collaboration throughout
the project. The successful start-up and performance of both
systems confirm the value of PressBooster technology in helping
producers increase capacity and reduce production costs,” he
said.
Implications for the Panelboard Manufacturing Industry
The project highlights the growing importance of process
optimisation in the panelboard industry. Manufacturers face the
challenge of increasing output while maintaining product
consistency and controlling production expenses.
Technologies that improve several aspects of manufacturing can
provide operational advantages. In this case, the PressBooster
systems combine higher production capacity with improved board
quality and reduced resin consumption.
These benefits are particularly relevant to producers seeking to
strengthen production efficiency without sacrificing
finished-product standards.
The installation on Siam Fibreboard’s thin-board, high-speed
line also demonstrates the application of the technology in a
demanding production environment. Both systems have achieved the
agreed performance targets, according to the companies’ project
announcement.
The results provide a basis for continued cooperation between
the manufacturer and its technology supplier. The companies
intend to build on the successful project in their future
business relationship.
Sunds Fibertech’s Focus on Panelboard Solutions
Sunds Fibertech supplies equipment, technologies and process
solutions to the panelboard industry. Its offerings are intended
to help manufacturers improve product quality, increase
production efficiency and lower operating costs.
The company’s approach centres on technology development and
process improvements that support efficient and sustainable
manufacturing.
The completed Siam Fibreboard project reinforces this focus. By
combining steam-based fibre-mat heating with the pressing
process, the two installations have delivered the targeted
operational performance.
For Siam Fibreboard, final acceptance marks the conclusion of a
project that began with the order in November 2025 and
progressed through two successful start-ups in 2026.
The outcome also strengthens the partnership between Siam
Fibreboard and Sunds Fibertech. Both companies have acknowledged
the cooperation that supported the project’s completion.
Looking ahead, the collaboration provides a foundation for
continued engagement between the two businesses. The successful
implementation demonstrates how specialised manufacturing
technology can support higher output, consistent board quality
and more efficient resin use across fibreboard production
operations.
