On June 18, Södra will lower its prices for lumber and
pulpwood in response to market conditions.
As a result of Storms Johannes and Dave, the supply of forest
raw materials has increased in Sweden. The supply of pine lumber
has risen during the first part of the year, and demand is
somewhat limited. At the same time, the price range for spruce
sawlogs has widened in Götaland. The supply of fiber (pulpwood
and sawmill chips) is expected to remain relatively stable,
while the market price for fiber has fallen.
Against this backdrop, Södra is implementing price reductions on
sawable pine and spruce assortments as well as pulpwood
effective June 18. At the same time, a market premium for spruce
lumber is being introduced in the southern parts of Södra’s
operating area. Prices for fuel grades remain unchanged.
Overall, the price level for forest raw materials remains at
a historically high level.
Price adjustments effective June 18:
Base price for sawable pine assortments:
standard pine lumber is reduced by 100 SEK/m³f
small-diameter pine lumber/cub is reduced by 50 SEK/m³f
Sawable spruce assortments
The base price for standard spruce lumber is reduced by 50 SEK/m³f
A market premium for standard spruce logs is being introduced in
the southern parts of Södra’s operating area at 50 kr/m³f. See
the map below.
Base price for pulpwood:
coniferous pulpwood is reduced by 25 kr/m³f
deciduous pulpwood is reduced by 25 kr/m³f
