- The project is expected to create 21 new job opportunities in the Southwest Region.
- The expansion supports Louisiana’s agribusiness industry by increasing production of utility and infrastructure materials.
- Construction is expected to be completed by January 2027.

Davis Timber Company, Inc. will invest $1.9 million to expand its operations in DeRidder, Louisiana, strengthening the state’s forestry and agribusiness sectors while creating new jobs in Southwest Louisiana.

The expansion project is expected to create 12 direct new jobs and retain 11 existing positions. In addition, economic development estimates project the investment will generate nine indirect jobs, bringing the total potential employment impact to 21 new opportunities across the region.

Located within the Beauregard Regional Airport Industrial Complex, the company’s facility manufactures poles and pilings used in utility transmission, construction, and infrastructure applications. The new investment will add processing capabilities designed to improve production efficiency, increase output capacity, and accelerate readiness for market demand.

Company leadership said the expansion reflects continued confidence in Louisiana’s timber resources, strategic location, and business climate. The project also positions the company for long-term growth as demand rises for utility and infrastructure materials across the Gulf South and beyond.

Founded more than 40 years ago, Davis Timber Company, Inc. is a multigenerational family-owned business with deep roots in East Texas and West Louisiana. The company has grown from timber harvesting into a regional manufacturer of high-quality poles and pilings sourced from local forests.

Regional officials noted the project aligns with broader economic development goals to support legacy industries, expand manufacturing capacity, and strengthen rural communities through private-sector investment.

To secure the expansion in DeRidder, the State of Louisiana offered a competitive incentives package that includes a $200,000 performance-based grant for infrastructure improvements and equipment. The company is also expected to participate in the state’s Industrial Tax Exemption Program.

Construction is currently underway, with the expansion scheduled for completion and operations launch by January 2027.

The project reinforces Louisiana’s position as a leader in timber, wood products, and value-added manufacturing while creating new opportunities in one of the state’s most important legacy industries.
