ThirdGen Timber Group, the parent company of True North Log & Timber Homes and Legacy North Construction Management, has acquired a majority stake in Canadian Timberframes Ltd., a Canadian manufacturer of timber-frame structures.

The deal brings together more than 85 years of combined experience in log and timber construction and expands ThirdGen’s portfolio to include expertise in log homes, timber frames, and mass timber construction.

Canadian Timberframes, based in Golden, B.C., has been crafting timber structures for 25 years and has completed projects across Canada, the United States, and internationally. The company operates manufacturing facilities with access to Douglas fir and western red cedar and employs a team of skilled craftspeople.

Mark Wrightman, co-owner of ThirdGen Timber Group, said the partnership strengthens Canadian timber construction and allows the companies to take on more complex projects and expand their focus on sustainable design.

Jeff Bowes, president of Canadian Timberframes, said joining ThirdGen Timber Group will allow the company to broaden its reach while continuing its current projects.

True North Log & Timber Homes, headquartered in Muskoka, is approaching its 40th year and holds patents for airtightness, durability, and precision building systems. Legacy North Construction Management, with nearly 20 years in high-end custom homes, offers project management and construction services for timber-based projects.

The companies said the combined expertise positions them to meet growing demand for sustainable wood-based construction internationally.
