IFFINA+ Supports Indonesia's Furniture Going Global

Indonesian Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar at the International Furniture and Craft Fair Indonesia (IFFINA+) 2025 exhibition at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD. The event is expected to support Indonesia's furniture going global.

Indonesia's craft industry has gain international recognition, with creativity as the main driving force behind the national creative economy. This vision is being realized through the International Furniture and Craft Fair Indonesia (IFFINA+) 2025 exhibition at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition BSD in Tangerang, Banten.

“We are not just selling chairs or tables, but we are offering designs, functionality, and storytelling that provide added value,” said Indonesian Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, during the opening of IFFINA + 2025 on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.

She emphasized that cross-subsector collaboration play a vital role in strengthening s a resilient creative economy ecosystem.

IFFINA+ 2025 carries the theme “Story of Origin”, showcasing more than 150 brands and 25 designers from various regions in Indonesia. This exhibition serves as a strategic platform that connect the local market with international buyers to expand the global reach of Indonesian craft products.

Irene emphasized the significance of viewing furniture and crafts as value-added products that can compete in the global arena. “Indonesian creativity is becoming a new engine of growth for the national and global economy,” she added, emphasizing the courage to venture into the global market.

Similarly, Lea Aziz from PT Elenbee Cipta Design highlighted the local diversity of materials, such as rattan, and well-curated crafts for architectural and interior design needs. According to Lea, Indonesian craft products have successfully achieved world-class quality.

This exhibition is a showcase of products and an opportunity to expand the global market and strengthen the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision. Cross-sector collaboration is considered to foster inclusive and sustainable creative economic growth.

Indonesia demonstrates the maturity of its creative industry through IFFINA+, which is ready to face global competition and support economic development based on innovation and local wisdom.
