
Japan's softwood lumber imports stable in H1
In the first half of 2025, Japan's softwood lumber imports
remained more or less stable at 1.83 million m3 (-1%). Bigger
volumes were imported from Sweden, Finland and Russia, while
purchases from Canada and Austria were reduced.
Japan: Sharp decrease in laminated timber imports
From January to June, Japan imported a total of 285,000 m³ of
laminated timber, recording an 18% decrease compared to the
first half of 2024.
