Germany: Slight decline in chipboard exports
In the period from January to May, 999,000 m3 of chipboard and
OSB were exported from Germany. This means that the export
volume is just under 3% below the previous year's level (1.03
million m3). The development in the individual target markets
shows a mixed picture.
Germany: Beech sawn timber exports constant
From January to May, Germany exported the same amount of
beech sawn timber as a year ago. While exports to China and
Vietnam in particular increased, less beech lumber was exported
to the USA and Mexico.
Germany: Packaging wood: Solid wood stable, OSB more
expensive, plywood fluctuating
Prices for solid wood for the production of wooden pallets
and packaging remained stable in July and remained at the same
level as the previous two months. While plywood continues to
fall in price, OSB shows a sustained upward trend.
