On 27 April, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) released a report on the profit data of industrial enterprises above national scale from January to March this year.

From January to March, industrial enterprises above designated size achieved a total profit of 1509.36 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 0.8 per cent. After 7 months, the cumulative profit of industrial enterprises above designated size returned to positive growth. in March, the profit of industrial enterprises above designated size from January to February declined by 0.3% to an increase of 2.6%, the enterprise profit improved in the month.

Focusing on the pan-furniture industry, in the first three months of this year, China's furniture manufacturing industry operating income of 145.98 billion yuan, down 2.2 per cent year-on-year; operating costs of 121.52 billion yuan, down 2.2 per cent year-on-year; total profit of 3.71 billion yuan, down 40.1 per cent year-on-year.

Wood processing and wood, bamboo, rattan, palm and grass products industry operating income of 204.14 billion yuan, down 1.6%; operating costs of 186.11 billion yuan, down 1.4%; total profit of 5.39 billion yuan, down 11.9%.

National Bureau of Statistics Industrial Division statistician Yu Weining analysis, said that overall, the first quarter of industrial enterprises above designated size profits continue to restore the trend.

At this stage, the external environment has become more complex and severe, unstable and uncertain factors increase, but we also need to see, since this year, the macro policy effect continues to appear, incremental policy and stock policy synergistic force, promote the industrial economy to achieve a good start.
