
The U.S. exported 781,576.4 metric tons of wood pellets in
March, down from 796,490.2 metric tons exported the previous
month and 938,622.3 metric tons exported in March 2024,
according to data released by the USDA Foreign Agricultural
Service on May 6.
The U.S. exported wood pellets to more than a dozen countries in
March. The U.K. was the top destination for U.S. wood pellet
exports at 483,095.8 metric tons, followed by Japan at 115,759.8
metric tons and the Netherlands at 84,527 metric tons.
The value of U.S. wood pellet exports reached $165.18 million in
March, up from $147.92 million in February, but down from
$174.33 million in March of last year.
Total wood pellet exports for the first quarter of 2025 reached
2.4 million metric tons at a value of $471.06 million, compared
to 2.38 million metric tons exported during the same period of
2024 at a value of $450.03 million.
