 Timber prices stable in Lower Saxony, Germany

Log prices in Lower Saxony remained stable in March.
From February to March, round timber prices in Lower Saxony remained stable, following slight regional price increases for needlesawed round timber in February.

Softwood prices
The guide price for spruce sections BC 2b+ is generally between € 100 and € 105/m³, sometimes even below € 100/m³, rarely above € 105/m³. For long spruce timber, peak values of up to €120/m³ are quoted.

Pine cuttings generally range from €75 to €80/mm, with peaks of up to €93/mm. Pine long timber is at a similar level.

After significant regional price increases for larch and Douglas fir in February, stability also returned in March with peak prices of €120 to €125 per cubic metre.

Coniferous pallet timber mainly fetches €40 to €45 per cubic metre, with peaks of over €50 per cubic metre.
Coniferous industrial timber in the ISN/OSB range is around €30 per cubic metre, with regional prices significantly higher. The ISFK range is normally around €25 to €30 per cubic metre.

Hardwood prices
Prices for hardwood are normally agreed for the entire season and have already been stable beforehand. C-beech, strength class 4 is between € 85 and € 100 per cubic metre, the same range of oak is usually between € 160 and € 190 per cubic metre.
