Austrian softwood lumber exports increased in 2024
Last year, Austrian softwood lumber exports, including planed lumber, rose by 7% compared to 2023. Exports thus returned to the level of 2022. While deliveries to Italy remained stable, the Japanese market recovered somewhat from a low level compared to 2023. Significant increases in exports were recorded last year to some countries in the MENA region.
 
AUSTRIA Coniferous roundwood imports declining
Austria imported 5.8 million cubic meters of coniferous roundwood last year. This is the lowest import volume in nine years and corresponds to a decrease of 10% compared to the previous year.
