IKEA U.S. has announced plans to open eight new-format stores
across the country in 2025, as outlined in its newly released
FY24 Annual Summary. The report highlights the company¡¯s efforts
to expand its footprint, improve affordability and
accessibility, and advance sustainability initiatives.
Expansion Plans for 2025
IKEA U.S. has increased its market share by 13.6% over the past
five years as part of a $2.2 billion investment in omnichannel
growth. In 2025, the company will continue its expansion with
seven new Plan & Order Points with Pick-up in Cherry Hill, PA;
Hunt Valley, MD; Beaverton, OR; Scottsdale, AZ; and three
locations in California¡ªThousand Oaks, Ontario, and Colma.
Additionally, a Pick-up Point will open in Santa Monica, CA.
These new locations are expected to open by spring/summer 2025.
¡°Our strategy continues to prioritize our customer¡¯s needs, and
in FY24, we continued to make everyday living more accessible,
especially during a time when we know economic challenges are
leading to a decrease in disposable income for many Americans,¡±
said CEO and Chief Sustainability Officer Javier Quiñones. ¡°As
we gear up for the 40th anniversary of IKEA U.S. in 2025, we¡¯re
committed to reaching even more customers where they are.¡±
Plan & Order Points with Pick-up differ from IKEA¡¯s traditional
large-format stores, offering customers personalized assistance
in planning and ordering home furnishings such as kitchen,
bathroom, and closet storage solutions. The addition of a
Pick-up Point allows for more convenient order collection.
