
The leading assortment of spruce grade B, Media 2b+ is currently
achieving prices of 106 - 110 euros per cubic metre
(net, free road).
The locations of the paper, pulp and board industry are well
supplied with raw material. From today's perspective, however,
there is a continuous supply. Prices are mainly between 76 and
80 euros per atro tonne.
At the hardwood auction in St. Florian, almost all of the 1,431
cubic metres of wood delivered was sold. The average revenue
across all tree species was 658 euros (2024: 668 euros) per
cubic metre. Oak, which accounted for two thirds of the timber
sold, achieved an average price of 847 euros per cubic metre, an
increase of ten per cent compared to the previous year. The
highest bid for oak this year was 2,189 euros per cubic metre,
which is also the highest bid for this year's hardwood auction.
149 logs achieved bids of more than 1,000 euros per cubic metre,
including 136 oaks. As hardwood has to be felled outside the sap
season and the season is gradually coming to an end, it is
recommended that the hardwood harvest is completed quickly.
