
In 2024, China's total imports and exports of wood-based panels
will be 19.989 million cubic meters (converted), up 25.89% year
on year, and the total imports and exports will be 7.855 billion
dollars, up 14.39% year on year.
China exported a total of 17.859 million cubic meters of
artificial board products (converted), a year-on-year increase
of 24.79%, with an export value of 6.929 billion US dollars, a
year-on-year increase of 10.4%. A total of 2.1291 million cubic
meters of artificial board products were imported (converted),
an increase of 36.02% year-on-year, with continuous growth for
five years. The import value was 926 million US dollars, an
increase of 56.68% year-on-year. Overall, both the import and
export volume of artificial boards increased, but the average
unit price of imports and exports decreased.
In 2024, the export volume of plywood products in China was
13.1887 million cubic meters, a year-on-year increase of 22.82%,
with an export value of 5.269 billion US dollars, a year-on-year
increase of 9.4%; Imported plywood products amounted to 793000
cubic meters, a year-on-year increase of 172.41%, with an import
value of 222 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of
7.25%.
In 2024, particleboard remains the only product in China with an
import volume greater than its export volume. A total of 1.2617
million cubic meters of particleboard products were imported
throughout the year, a year-on-year increase of 5.02%. The
import value was 657 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase
of 48.86%, and both the import volume and import amount
increased. The top five countries for China's imported
particleboard are Thailand, Brazil, Poland, Romania, and
Germany.
China exported 840000 cubic meters of particleboard products
(converted), an increase of 34.61% over the previous year, with
an export value of 300 million US dollars, a year-on-year
increase of 10.7%. The top five export destinations are Taiwan,
China, Mongolia, Nigeria, Chile and Vietnam. Compared with 2023,
Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates will exit the top five
in terms of import volume, while Chile and Vietnam will enter
the top five.
