On December 18, 2024, Mellanskog announced it was raising the
price of pine and spruce logs, citing continuing strong demand
for timber from family forestry in central Sweden.
Mellanskog¡¯s new price lists, effective for felling contracts
signed from December 18, include a SEK 100/m3fub increase in the
price of pine and spruce logs.
Additionally, a SEK 50/m3fub contracting premium applies to
timber from final felling that can be harvested and transported
on bare ground. This premium will remain in effect until further
notice.
In a statement accompanying the announcement, Mellanskog CEO
Fredrik Munter said:
¡°We continue to see a good market for sawn timber, both Setra
and other sawmill companies in central Sweden have made
investments to increase production and demand for timber is
increasing. With the price increase, we continue to create value
for our owners by strengthening the profitability of forest
owners.¡±
