Germany: export trade in sawn oak declines
At 54,000 m3, exports of oak sawn timber in the first nine
months of 2024 were 9% lower than in the same period of the
previous year. In particular, the three most important
customers, the Netherlands and Denmark, significantly reduced
their purchase volumes.
Germany: Oak log exports on the rise
Between January and September 2024, exports of oak logs
increased by 24% to 130,000 cubic metres compared to the same
period in the previous year. At 84,000 cubic metres, 86% more
was exported to China, the most important destination, than in
the same period of the previous year.
Germany: Incoming orders in building construction and civil
engineering up
In October 2024, real, calendar-adjusted new orders grew by 5.6%
compared to the previous month. Growth affected building
construction and civil engineering equally.
Germany: Situation in residential construction does not
deteriorate further
The situation in the residential construction sector did not
deteriorate further in December. The current business situation
is described as good by around 10% of companies, as sufficient
by just under 40% and as poor by over 50%.
