Germany: exports of softwood logs continue to decline In the first nine months of 2024, exports of coniferous logs fell by 22% to 3.3 million cubic metres compared to the same period in the previous year. Austria and China continue to be the most important customers, together accounting for around 70% of German exports. Germany: Coniferous log prices rise significantly Demand for softwood logs continued to increase in November. This is shown both by the survey results from our HMI reporting network and by personal statements from various forestry companies throughout Germany. For example, 80% of the companies surveyed reported an increase in November. |
