Germany Pellet prices
increase by 2% in October |
In Germany, the price of pellets rose by two per cent in October 2024. According to the German Pellet Institute (DEPI), the average price is €279.26 per tonne for a purchase quantity of six tonnes. ¡®Even if the temperatures are not yet too autumnal, experienced pellet stokers know that they shouldn't put off filling up their stocks too far in the future despite the low prices,¡¯ says DEPI Managing Director Martin Bentele. A kilowatt hour of heat from wood pellets currently costs 5.59 eurocents per kilowatt hour. The price advantage over heating oil is 41 per cent and 44 per cent compared to natural gas. The German Pellet Institute surveys the pellet price by region and sales volume for the DEPV. According to DEPV, consumers should pay particular attention to the quality of the pellets when buying pellets in order to ensure trouble-free operation of their heating system.
