U.S. Boxboard Production
Decreased One Percent in Q2 2024 |
The boxboard operating rate in Q2 2024 was 88.5%, up 2.5 points from the same quarter last year and up 0.7 points year-to-date. The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) released its Q1 2024 Boxboard report. According to the report, total boxboard production in Q1 decreased 2% compared to Q1 2023. Folding ¡ª Domestic production increased 13% compared to Q2 2023. - Solid Bleached Boxboard unmade orders were up 29% compared to the end of the previous quarter and increased 35% compared to June 2023. - Uncoated Recycled Boxboard production increased 3% compared to Q2 2023, and was up 2% when compared to the same 6 months of 2023.
