Swedish SCA's wood division grows sales and profit in Q2

SCA¡¯s wood division recorded improved sales and profits in Q2 compared to the same period a year ago.

SCA¡¯s wood division recorded net sales of SEK1.50bn in Q2, up 11% on a year ago, with operating profit up 47% to SEK222m, mainly due to higher delivery volumes and higher selling prices. Wood product deliveries rose 7% to 483,000m3.

H1, 2024 divisional sales were down 2% to SEK2.6bn, but operating profit rose 20% to SEK266m. H1 wood product deliveries were 6% down to 919,000m3.

SCA wood division has an annual production capacity of 2.3 million m3 of solid-wood products from five sawmills located close to its forest holdings in Northern Sweden, as well as wood processing and distribution to the building materials trade in Scandinavia and France.

Group wide results for the half year showed net sales of SEK9.84bn (H1, 2023: SEK9.39bn), an increase of 5%, of which volume accounted for +5%, currency +3% and price/mix -3%. EBITDA decreased to SEK3.48bn (H1, 2023: SEK3.75bn).
