DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR Kicks Off in Shanghai

The 26th edition of DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR opened its doors in Shanghai on May 28th at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC ¨C Hongqiao). Already fully opened and eager to do business with the rest of the world, China and Asia remain hubs for the international flooring industry on both supply and demand sides.

The 2024 Edition in Figures
Around 1600 companies and brands are exhibiting their latest products and innovations in an overall gross space of 230,000 sqm. The hard flooring, show¡¯s largest segment, occupies 4 halls with exhibits of all types of resilient, wood, laminate, cork and bamboo flooring as well as outdoor decking. 2 and a half halls is occupied by manufacturers of carpets, rugs and carpet technology. The rest of the space has been dedicated to flooring technologies, sport flooring as well as complementary products such as wooden doors, wallboards and more.

An estimated number of over 80,000 flooring professionals, coming from China and over 100 other countries are expected to visit the event this year. Supported also by the waiving of visas for many major countries around the world, the show has experienced an unprecedent online registration of international flooring buyers. Organizers are also hosting more than 150 handpicked international buyers and delegation members from 20 countries, who will be guided through personalized visits at the booths of some 80 selected exhibitors and engage in over 400 matchmaking meetings.

Promoting Cross-Channel Communication In The Industry
Under the theme ¡°More than Flooring¡±, DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR 2024 will cover the flooring world at 360 degrees. At the same time, complementary products, such as ceiling, wall materials, door, cabinets and more will be present to reflect the transformation of the products from a single plan to a multi-dimensional concept of space fitting. Co-located with other related events and activities under ¡°Build Asia Mega Show¡±, the show will be part of a platform established to foster communication and integration among different sectors in the construction, building materials and interior design industry.

A rich program has been developed to serve the increased variety of visitor profiles and guide industry players through the recent developments and towards the future trends of the industry. Among many, the Multi-dimensional Interior Space Design Forum, a full day conference, took place yesterday, supported by the Research Institute of Wood Industry of the China Academy of Forestry and Shanghai Interior Decoration Association. Among the speakers were leaders from Lamett, Nature and Power Dekor.

Nature At The Heart Of The Event
The flooring industry is being continuously transformed by the evolving consumers¡¯ needs and lifestyle trends. Consumer¡¯s attention towards the choice of sustainable materials, simple and practical designs are heavily impacting the flooring production. Chinese and Asian flooring manufacturers keep responding to these changes accordingly, bringing to the markets some of industry¡¯s most innovative products, that satisfy the latest consumption trends, while fully adhere to the environmental protection standards.

"Live with Nature" is the newly launched campaign for this year, created to showcase how the flooring companies are keeping up with the ever-changing demand. It will offer particular exposure and targeted visitor guidance for the brands whose products align with the green and sustainable development objectives and place a strong emphasis on the latest design trends. The stands of these selected companies are labeled as "Must-Visit¡±, with the purpose to guide the audience into experiencing these achievements first hand.
