Irving Forest Product’s Dixfield sawmill introduced baled wood shavings to its line of value-added products.

The Dixfield sawmill has sold Eastern white pine shavings from its lumber manufacturing process for animal bedding, racetrack padding, and pathways for many years. The company noted that packaging wood shavings makes it easier to transport and handle and keep dry compared to bulk loose residuals.

This is Irving’s only sawmill to date to offer baled shavings.

These shavings are made with 100 per cent kiln-dried Eastern white pine, the highest quality species of shavings for farm and sport animals.

Baled shavings are now available for purchase from the Dixfield mill. Interested customers should contact pine@jdirving.com for pricing and ordering.
