China's fiberboard exports increase in 2023

According to Chinese customs data, the total export volume of fiberboard in 2023 was 2.205 million tons, valued at 1.194 billion US dollars, an increase of 10% from 2022, but a decrease of 0.5% in value.

Mexico, Nigeria, and Saudi Arabia are the top three destinations in 2023. Mexico is the largest destination for China's fiberboard exports in 2023, an increase of 65% to 223000 tons compared to 2022. China's export of particleboard to Nigeria increased by 7% to 214000 tons, valued at 88 million US dollars, a decrease of 1.2% from 2022.

In addition, China's fiberboard exports to Vietnam and Canada increased by 17% and 37% respectively in 2023. In contrast, China's fiberboard exports to Saudi Arabia, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates decreased by 10%, 23%, and 32% respectively in 2023.

The import volume of fiberboard has significantly decreased. In 2023, the import volume of fiberboard in China was 51300 tons, valued at 48.9 million US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 45% and a year-on-year decrease of 50%. New Zealand and Germany are the two major suppliers in 2023. However, China's imports of fiberboard from New Zealand and Germany decreased by 13% and 55%, respectively, to 14500 tons and 10100 tons.

In 2023, China's imports of fiberboard from Thailand, Belgium, Poland, Spain, and Switzerland have significantly decreased. In contrast, in 2023, China's imports of fiberboard from Romania increased by 45% year-on-year, reaching 2200 tons, making it only one of the largest suppliers.
