As part of its commitment to providing a more affordable,
sustainable life at home for its customers, IKEA UK is lowering
the prices of thousands of its products.
The retailer has announced the rolling out of New Lower Prices
on more than 1500 items from today, with more than 2500 products
to be reduced by this spring.
It follows improvements to purchasing goods costs in 2023, after
a challenging period in the wake of the pandemic. IKEA says the
easing of cost pressures has enabled it to pass £100m in savings
to customers.
"New Lower Prices will be a long-term change to pricing," says
the retailer. It follows price reductions across IKEA UK¡¯s
kitchens and accessories ranges, with over 1300 items reduced
last autumn.
Shoppers will see price drops on some of IKEA¡¯s bestselling
items across bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, children¡¯s
furniture, storage and more. Among IKEA's New Lower Price items
are Malm (chest of drawers was £99, now £79), Hemnes (dressing
table was £179, now £159) and Kallax (grey shelving unit was
£150, now £115).
Michaela Quinlan, CCO at IKEA UK and Ireland, says: ¡°By reducing
the price of thousands of much-loved IKEA products, particularly
at a time when cost of living pressures continue to affect so
many, we¡¯re staying true to our vision of creating a better
everyday life at home. Keeping prices as low as possible is in
our DNA and it¡¯s a priority for us to do all we can to make our
products affordable, sustainable and accessible to as many
people as possible.¡±
