sedate tone. Buyers limited purchases to
immediate needs, as they absorbed the outcome of
Tuesday’s U.S. presidential election. The
prospect of a more business-friendly Trump
administration heartened many traders, while
they also pondered how the new leadership might
impact lumber trade negotiations with Canada.

Random Lengths Panel Market Report
Trends in structural panel trading were narrowly mixed. Prices
of OSB were flat to lower, but most traders said sales were steady
considering the time of year. Unseasonably dry weather across the
South kept loads flowing smoothly to job sites. The tone of the
Southern Pine plywood market improved in late trading after some
mills extended order files to the end of the month. Trading in
western Fir plywood was slow, with growing resistance from mills
confronting downward price pressure in sheathing.
